English for Nursing and Health Care
A Course in General and Professional English
Robin A. Bradley
Low-Intermediate

English for Nursing and Health Care provides an entirely new approach to English that is needed in nursing related fields. The program is designed to enable students who have reached a lower-intermediate level of English to relate the language they are learning to their own work experience. Special emphasis is placed on skills work, particularly listening and speaking. Importance is placed on phonetics and pronunciation, especially in the use of medical terminology. This book combines a Student Book and Workout and covers a wide range of topics.

It is divided into four main units:
• English, the Hospital and the People
• The Patient and the Ward
• The Human Body – inside and out
• Diet and Nutrition

Additional Key Features include:
• Audio CD to help students study independently
• High frequency vocabulary with Expression and Word lists in each unit
• Language “chunks” and related exercises to make learning and revision easier
• Dialogs, role plays, reading texts, pair and group work activities to enliven lessons with interaction between students.
